So Many Places and so Little Time!

Dining or enjoying a few drinks on the Norfolk coast

When it comes to either having a few drinks in a pub garden on a lazy summer's afternoon or sitting down to some seriously good food then the villages surrounding Magazine Wood have a bewildering number of great places to choose from. These range from traditional local pubs to upmarket all-day cafe bistros that have sprung up in recent years.

You may have heard of some of the more established names such as the Hoste Arms inNorfolk Mussels Burnham Market or the Victoria at Holkham and whilst these lead the field in terms of profile and maybe prices, there are so many more places to discover. From the posh to the practical, almost all make the most of local produce and mouth-watering seafood often scooped just hours earlier from the Norfolk coastline. Local specialities include mussels, so fresh, that they are almost orange in colour like little roast chickens and oysters which are appealingly small with a reassuringly sweet taste of the sea. Look out for samphire in the summer months, an unusual seaweed, eaten hot with butter and often referred to as sea asparagus -absolutely sublime.King William Sedgeford

Within walking distance of Magazine Wood there is a popular pub the King William that serves well prepared pub food - booking is recommended. This is a popular first night choice for weary walkers who are staying at Magazine Wood for bed and breakfast.

The drop down menu on the left hand side gives you a choice between good local pubs and the more upmarket dining hotels and restaurants.

This is a favourite part of the country for many people and on almost all weekends, booking in advance is advisable and should you need a taxi (details ~ things to do) then make the arrangements well in advance.
